Hey Orteil, I've been reading up on your source files in order to learn some JavaScript and I have 2 questions. First one is : Would you allow custom versions of your game (CookieClicker) to be out there? and the Second one is : Where did you learn JavaScript... The scripts are very well done and are very easy to read through :)

Okay guys, here’s our statement on mods and translations.

If you wish to make a translation or a mod of the game, you are required to follow these rules :
-rehosting the game, editing the sourcecode, dealing with bugs, and keeping up with the official version’s updates are your own responsibilities
-the page must have a paypal donate button leading to the same url as the official version’s
-the page must retain all the information in the top-bar (including credits), in addition to a link to the official version
-the page must not include advertisements; you are not allowed to make profits from the page
-translations shouldn’t alter game mechanics unless they are also a mod
-the page must clearly state its nature as an unofficial translation or modification

Hope that’s not too drastic !
Regarding my scripting, I’ve learned everything from various tutorial websites; my javascript is far from perfect, and I learn something new everyday (especially on a big project like Cookie Clicker).
I’m a very messy and disorganized person, and I’m kind of a ditz, which is why I try to make my code clear and easy to understand - at least for myself. I’m also aware that people read through the code, so I guess that’s kind of my way of showing off !
